FREED (Fellowship, Relationship, Evangelism, Edification, Discipleship) is the youth ministry of New Hope. Its purpose is to encourage the youth 6th grade through 12th grade, to grow closer to God through transformative knowledge of Him, and to grow in love toward others. It aims to disciple our youth in the areas of prayer, mentorship, scripture memorization, outreach and missions, worship, Biblical and doctrinal knowledge, service, and fellowship.
FREED meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00. Weeks that coincide with church wide Bible study, have a large group format with corporate teaching. On the alternate weeks there are small groups with discussion questions based on the previous week’s large group teaching. Each meeting contains singing/praise, ice breakers, teaching in either a large or small group, and games. In addition to the weekly meetings there are regularly scheduled events such as:
Fun fellowship activities such as game nights, movie and discussion nights, and Christmas caroling.
A yearly retreat either “in house” and “away”
Service projects such as Christmas caroling at a local nursing home, serving members of the church with yard maintenance, or processing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
